How will this benefit Hillingdon?
Our proposal will benefit Hillingdon and its local community in a number of ways:
- We will be investing around £40 million into the local economy.
- The facility will provide approximately 130 permanent jobs, skilled and unskilled, for the local workforce.
- Further jobs will be created during the construction period.
- We aim to use local suppliers to provide services and materials from the initial construction phase to ongoing maintenance works.
- The MRF will divert waste materials away from landfill to capture their value through recycling.
- The process will keep resources within the supply chain thereby decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels.
It is likely that our proposal will also stimulate a ‘local economic multiplier effect’ through servicing local businesses with a reliable recycling and waste treatment service, increased use of haulage operators and the supply of high quality end products for onward sale into the market place.
