R2R completes 190km Verenti Dragon Ride
As part of its training for the Tour de Force, Powerday sponsored cycling club R2R (Rugby to Riding) took part in the Verenti Dragon Ride in Bridgend, Wales on Sunday 6th June.
Five R2R cyclists completed the gruelling 190km road cycle challenge in the hills and valleys of the Bwlch, Rhigos and Brecon Beacons mountains. This was R2R’s final training challenge before the Tour de Force which kicks off on Saturday, covering the Tour de France route of 2010 just two weeks before the professional race and following the precise route of the main tour, all 20 stages, starting in Rotterdam and finishing in Paris.
Simon Little, Sales and Marketing Director, Powerday says: “The Dragon Ride was a real test for us but we all rode a great race. Two of the team head to France on Friday and the rest of us will be on our way at the beginning of July. We are as ready as can be expected and looking forward to the next challenge. ”
Powerday is sponsoring R2R to raise money for the William Wates Memorial Trust. R2R has a target of £20,000, please support their efforts to raise money at www.bmycharity.com/simonpowerday.
