Powerday’s shirt recycling initiative sees first batch of recycled London Irish shirts collected!

Powerday’s shirt recycling initiative to reuse London Irish shirts has been a great success since it was launched in August.

Powerday has linked up with the charity LV=SOS Kit Aid, to send the returned London Irish shirts to disadvantaged areas around the world, helping to promote rugby.

Over 200 shirts were returned as part of the scheme, meaning that around 15 new sets of kit can be made. These will be distributed over 8 countries in Eastern Europe and Africa.

The offer which gives fans a £10.00 discount voucher when buying a new replica or pro-fit shirt, means that fans simply have to return their old replica jersey to claim the discount.

Simon Little, Sales and Marketing Director, Powerday says, “We are really impressed by the enthusiasm that London Irish fans have shown to get involved in the scheme. The scheme encourages the reuse and recycling of materials and helps those in areas of need who will really benefit from new kit to help support their involvement in rugby. We look forward to working with the club and LV=SOS Kit Aid next year to further support the work they do.”
